Papa Bois walking in his forest of rain
Each bush move aside and whisper his name
Each deep-down gully and mountain path
Each mangrove swamp and leaf-cutter ant
Papa walk down in the deep-down gully
Where the wild thyme dance with the wild banana
And the silent liana swinging high
Up in the canopy
And the music plays with the swish of the rain
And the marmosets clap and capuchins sing
And the rubber tree slaps her leaves in the rain
Cool rainforest rain
Deep in my bed I lie asleep
Dreaming of rain in a place far away
In a wide brown river where otters play
And the ibis fly in a rainbow sky
Papa Bois walking in his forest of rain
And I tiptoe soft on the forest floor
In the deep-down gully where the earth is warm
And the fat green leaves form a parasol
And the music plays with the swish of the rain
And the marmosets clap and capuchins sing
And the rubber tree slaps her leaves in the rain
Cool rainforest rain, cool rainforest rain.
